It was alleged that M orchestrated the “honour killing” of his brother in law from his prison cell. During the first trial M’s four co defendants were all convicted of murder and received between 15 and 22 years imprisonment, however, the jury could not reach a verdict on M.

 

During the second trial and following submissions from the defence the jury was directed to return a formal not guilty verdict in M’s case.
