Ben Jones, Director, represented a large and successful Northern business who supplied bedding through the internet and their wholesale business. A raid was carried out at their business premises and their home addresses, along with the addresses of family members. A number of the family were arrested and restraint orders issued both individually and against the business.

We attended at recorded individuals with our clients and crisis aversion advice was promptly given. We quickly set about ensuring the restraint orders were varied to allow the business to continue to trade and the individuals to live as comfortable life as possible whilst the order was in place.

The Royal Mail investigators alleged underpayments from the company of £308,000. Using our skills in this area of law we managed to negotiate the case to the position that no prosecution would be brought and that the company would compensate Royal mail in the sum of £35,000 for costs incurred during their investigation. The matter was then closed with no finding of dishonesty made. All restraint orders were lifted promptly and the investigation terminated.

Case represented by Ben Jones, Opus Law.
