Opus Law acts for Professional Footballer in Underage Sex Case
Ben Jones, Director, acted for R, a professional footballer at the time of committing the offences to which he later pleaded guilty. The case, heard before the Bradford Crown Court, attracted national media attention which required careful navigation throughout.
After receiving the evidence we advised our client in open and professional terms as to the best possible way forward in his case. This resulted in him entering an early guilty plea. His co-accused decided to enter a not guilty plea and have the matter listed for trial. Our client ultimately received a sentence years less than his co-accused after accepting our honest advice.
