NOT GUILTY Verdict in Large Cannabis Conspiracy Case

Ben Jones, Director, represented T in a large conspiracy to cultivate cannabis case with many defendants, known as Operation Leo. The case was heard at the Sheffield Crown Court. The case was prosecuted purely through mobile phone data uplifted from other co-defendants in the case. The prosecution sought to serve as little telephonic evidence as possible and this approach was attacked by way of a number of applications to the court for disclosure. Those applications were ultimately successful.

The evidence in many areas was compelling, forcing all but three defendants to plead guilty. Our client was one of those three defendants who chose to have a trial. Following a relatively lengthy trial our client was the only defendant in the entire prosecution to be found NOT GUILTY.

Miss Sarah Barlow of Exchange Chambers (Leeds) was instructed in this case.

Case represented by Ben Jones, Opus Law.
